What Restaurant Website Development Includes

A restaurant website is more than a menu page. It is the one place online where you control the message, the prices and the customer relationship. A complete build covers six parts.

What is a restaurant website, in plain words?

It is your own online outlet. It carries your menu, photos, location, opening hours, ordering and booking tools under your own domain name, such as yourrestaurant.com, so customers can reach you without a third party in between. Ordering and payments are added only when your business needs them.

Menu and dish pages

A menu built as real web pages instead of a PDF. It opens fast, can be read by Google and is easy to edit when a price changes.

Online ordering and payments (optional)

Direct orders for delivery or takeaway, with UPI, cards and wallets through a payment gateway account you hold, such as Razorpay, PayU or Cashfree.

Table and event bookings

A booking form for tables, parties and banquet enquiries, sent to your phone and email so no request goes missing.

Local search setup

Google Business Profile links, Restaurant and Menu structured data, and the same name, address and phone number everywhere, so you appear when people search nearby.

Mobile-first design

Many diners will open your site on a phone with a weak signal. We design for that screen first and check the speed measures Google reports: LCP, INP and CLS.

Simple admin panel

Change dishes, prices, offers and opening hours yourself, without waiting for a developer or paying for each small edit.

Choose your starting point

Simple Restaurant Website or Online Ordering? Start With What Your Business Needs

Not every restaurant needs a cart. Many only need a website that looks good, shows the menu and makes it easy to call, book or find the outlet. We build both, and you can add ordering later without starting again.

No payment gateway needed

Simple restaurant website

Best for dine-in restaurants, cafes, bakeries, hotel dining outlets, banquet halls and caterers who want to be found, trusted and visited.

  • Home, About and story pages
  • Menu with photos and prices
  • Photo gallery and event pages
  • Location, map and opening hours
  • Tap-to-call and WhatsApp buttons
  • Enquiry or table booking form
  • Google reviews and social media links
For outlets that deliver or sell takeaway

Restaurant website with online ordering

Best for takeaway outlets, QSR, cloud kitchens and restaurants with their own delivery.

  • Everything in the simple website
  • Cart and checkout
  • UPI, cards and wallets through your payment gateway
  • Delivery areas and timing rules
  • Combos, add-ons and festival menus
  • Order alerts to your phone and email

Not sure which one fits? Start simple. Adding ordering later is a normal upgrade, so the design is not wasted. Request a Quote and we will recommend one after a short call.

If you want direct orders

Why Your Restaurant Needs Its Own Website Next to Zomato and Swiggy

Aggregators bring orders, and many outlets would struggle without them. The catch is that on an aggregator the customer belongs to the app, not to you. A website gives you a second channel that you control.

What aggregator commissions do to your margin

Commission and charges differ by plan, city and contract. Restaurant bodies have publicly raised aggregator commissions in the range of roughly 8% to 28%, with GST charged on the commission. Check your own statements. On a thin margin, a few percentage points on every order add up quickly. A direct order through your website avoids that commission, although it carries a payment gateway fee and the cost of attracting the customer.

What a website does not fix

A website will not bring customers by itself. It has to be found, through Google search, your Google Business Profile, Instagram and, where it makes sense, paid ads. Many outlets do best by keeping aggregators for discovery and using the website to win repeat customers directly. If your order volume does not justify direct ordering yet, we will say so and start with a smaller build.

We also provide the marketing that brings visitors

Digital Marketing Cube offers every kind of digital marketing, so one agency can build the site and help people find it.

By business type

Which Restaurant Website Do You Need?

A fine-dining room, a cloud kitchen and a banquet hall earn money in different ways, so they need different websites. We plan around how your business actually works.

Restaurants and Cafes

Your website sells the experience before anyone walks in.

  • Story, interior and food photo pages
  • Menu with veg, non-veg and Jain labels
  • Table booking and Google Maps
  • Ordering if you deliver

Hotels, Banquets and Resort Dining

Dining inside a hotel and standalone banquet halls depend on enquiries, so the site is built to start conversations.

  • Dining outlet pages linked to your hotel site
  • Event and party packages with capacity details
  • Photo galleries and quote forms
  • Links to your booking engine where you use one

Takeaway Outlets and QSR

Speed matters most here. A visitor should reach the cart in a few taps.

  • Short menu with combos and add-ons
  • Pickup and delivery options
  • UPI and card payments
  • Order alerts to your phone

Cloud Kitchens and Multi-Brand Kitchens

A cloud kitchen has no dining room to sell, so the website is the shop.

  • A menu and landing page for each brand
  • Delivery areas and timing rules
  • Payment gateway and order alerts
  • Ad landing pages for each kitchen brand

Multi-Outlet and Franchise Brands

One brand site with a page for every outlet, kept consistent from one place.

  • Outlet pages with menu, hours, map and phone
  • Outlet-level edits for managers
  • Shared design, offers and tracking
  • Franchise enquiry form

Website Design for Food Catering Businesses

As web designers for food catering websites across India, we build around enquiries and trust.

  • Packages for weddings, corporate and house parties
  • Menu samples and event galleries
  • Quote request form with guest count
  • Reviews and past event pages you can verify
Design decisions

Restaurant Website Design: What We Build and Why It Matters

Good restaurant website design is a set of small decisions that help a hungry visitor call, book or order faster. These are the ones we spend time on.

A menu that sells, not just lists

Dishes grouped the way customers think, so people find what they want fast.

  • Clear prices, veg and non-veg marks, spice levels
  • Combos, add-ons and festival menus
  • Real web pages instead of a PDF, so Google can read them
Why it mattersA clear menu shortens the time between opening your site and picking up the phone or placing an order.

Ordering and payments, only where needed

Direct ordering works when you can handle the volume and have a delivery plan.

  • Cart and checkout with UPI, cards and wallets
  • Your own payment gateway account, connected and tested
  • We tell you if ordering is not worth it yet
Why it mattersEvery direct order saves you the aggregator commission.

QR menus, bookings and quick contact

The easier it is to reach you, the fewer enquiries you lose.

  • Table QR codes that open your live menu
  • Booking and enquiry forms with phone and email alerts
  • Tap-to-call and WhatsApp buttons
Why it mattersHungry visitors decide fast. One tap should be enough.

Local search setup

So people searching for food nearby can find and trust you.

  • Restaurant and Menu structured data
  • Matching name, address and phone everywhere, plus map and review links
  • Order and reserve links on Google Business Profile where Google offers them
Why it mattersMany "near me" searches end with a tap on one of the first few results.

Updates you can do yourself

You should not need a developer to change a price.

  • Simple admin panel for dishes, prices, offers and hours
  • Short training for you or your manager
  • Changes go live without waiting
Why it mattersA site that stays current earns more trust than a beautiful one that is out of date.

Smart assistants for routine work

Assistants take over repeat tasks, and we suggest them only when they save you time.

  • Answer common customer questions
  • Collect booking or enquiry details
  • Scope agreed on the discovery call
Why it mattersYour team spends less time on the same questions.

Whatever your business needs, we build it. We recommend the platform that fits your menu size, ordering plans and budget, not the one we like best.

Any website your restaurant needs, from one agency

When a website builder is enough

A single-outlet cafe with a short menu can start on a simple builder. If that is your case, we will tell you, and you can move to WordPress or Shopify when your business grows.

Our process

How We Build Your Restaurant Website, Step by Step

A simple, honest sequence. We understand your business first, recommend what fits, then build it properly.

  1. Discovery Call

We learn your outlets, menu, customers and how you take orders today. No pitch, just the questions that matter.

  2. Account Review

We check your current website, Google Business Profile and ads for wasted spend and quick wins. Starting fresh? We study your market and nearby competitors.

  3. Strategy and Proposal

We recommend the platform, pages and ordering approach, and tell you honestly what will and will not work.

  4. Build and Launch

Design, menu setup, booking and ordering flows, tracking, speed and security checks, all tested on real phones before go-live. Then we train you to update it.

After the build

Getting Found on Google and Turning Visits Into Orders

A website nobody visits earns nothing. We run search, ads and social media for clients, so we plan visibility together with the build.

Restaurant SEO

Pages and content that match what diners type into Google, plus Google Business Profile support.

SEO services

Google Ads and Meta Ads

Search ads for people ready to order, and Instagram and Facebook ads for offers and launches. Our team has 22+ years of combined paid ads experience.

Paid advertisement

Social Media Marketing

Instagram and Facebook content linked straight to your menu, offers and booking page.

Social media marketing

Landing Pages

Focused pages for a festival menu, a new outlet or a cloud kitchen brand, built to turn ad clicks into orders.

Landing page design
Care and ownership

After Launch: Updates, Security and Ownership

A restaurant site needs steady care, and you should always be able to move it if you want to.

Website AMC for restaurants

A Website AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) covers the routine care a site needs: software updates, backups, security checks and small content changes. The scope is written into your agreement.

Website AMC

WordPress AMC and Shopify AMC are available too.

Who owns your website

Your domain name should be registered in your name or your company's name. We agree on domain, hosting and source file ownership in writing before work starts, so you can move your site whenever you choose.

Privacy and food business details

Forms collect phone numbers, so we add a clear consent line and a link to your privacy policy, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. Your FSSAI licence number goes in the footer. Please confirm final wording with your legal adviser.

Budget

What Affects the Cost of a Restaurant Website

We do not list prices on this page because a single-outlet cafe and a 20-outlet chain are not the same project. Request a Quote and we reply with a written estimate after the discovery call.

What changes the price

  • Number of pages and number of outlets
  • Platform: WordPress, Shopify or custom
  • Ordering and payment setup
  • POS, kitchen or delivery system links
  • Menu size, photography and content writing
  • Hindi or regional language versions
  • SEO, ads and AMC after launch

What we need from you

  • Your menu with current prices
  • Logo and brand colours, if you have them
  • Photos, or time for a food photo shoot
  • FSSAI and GST details for the footer
  • Your payment gateway account, if you plan to take orders
  • List of outlets with timings and phone numbers
  • Access to your Google Business Profile

Common questions

Restaurant Website Development: Common Questions

Straight answers to what restaurant, hotel and cloud kitchen owners ask us most.

What is restaurant website development?

Restaurant website development is the planning, design and building of a website for a food business. It covers the menu, ordering or booking tools, location and contact details, mobile design and the search setup that helps customers find you on Google.

Do I still need a website if I am on Zomato and Swiggy?

Yes, if you want customers who belong to you. Aggregators own the customer relationship and charge commission on each order. A website lets you take direct orders, collect bookings, show your full menu and build repeat business. Most outlets keep both channels.

How much does a restaurant website cost in India?

It depends on the number of outlets and pages, the platform, whether you take orders online, the links to your POS or delivery system, and the content and photography you need. We do not publish a fixed price because it would mislead you. Use Request a Quote and we send a written estimate after the discovery call.

How long does it take to build a restaurant website?

A small menu-and-contact site takes less time than a multi-outlet site with ordering and payments. The biggest delay is usually waiting for menus, photos and gateway approvals. We give you a timeline in the proposal once we know your scope.

Can customers order and pay directly on my website?

Yes. We can build ordering for delivery or takeaway with UPI, cards and wallets through a payment gateway you hold an account with. We will check your delivery plan first, because direct ordering only pays off when you can fulfil orders reliably.

Can I update the menu and prices myself?

Yes. Your site comes with a simple admin panel, and we train you or your manager to change dishes, prices, offers and opening hours without a developer.

Who owns the domain and website files?

You should. We agree on domain, hosting and source file ownership in writing before work starts. If an earlier developer holds your domain, tell us on the discovery call and we will suggest how to recover control.

Which is better for a restaurant, WordPress or Shopify?

WordPress suits most restaurants, hotels and caterers because it handles content, bookings and search well. Shopify suits cloud kitchens and food brands that sell items with a simple checkout. We build on both and recommend after the discovery call.

Can you build a website for a cloud kitchen with several brands?

Yes. We create a menu and landing page for each brand, set delivery areas and timings, connect payments and order alerts, and build separate ad landing pages so each brand can be promoted on its own.

Do you build websites for hotels, banquets and caterers?

Yes. Hotel dining outlets and banquet halls get enquiry-led pages with packages, capacity details, galleries and quote forms. Caterers get event packages, sample menus and a quote form that asks for the guest count.

Will my restaurant website rank on Google, and how soon?

No agency can honestly promise a ranking or a date. What we do is set up the site correctly, add local search details, write useful content and set up tracking so you can see what is working. Search results depend on competition, your location and how consistently the site is improved.
